Why is Asbestos Roof Removal Necessary?

Thanks to its thermal and fire-retardant qualities, asbestos was used extensively in insulation and roofing in the twentieth century. Asbestos is commonly used in cement sheets, and hundreds of old buildings in Australia have asbestos roofing. Though they work well when they’re new, they deteriorate faster and become more brittle. Mineral fibres become loose, exposed and easily breathable by the inhabitants. In addition, asbestos sheets must be removed under guidance, weather at risk acid rain, ultraviolet rays, frost and moisture. Asbestos was added to the roofing materials to increase durability, strength, insulating and fireproofing qualities. After it was discovered to be harmful, the use of asbestos was steadily discontinued in the 1980s. However, they were commonly used in decking, adhesives felt, coatings, mastics, flashing, shingles, sealants, vapour retardants and underlayment.
